Application to requirement

GridPoint Sourcing application requirements for buildings

A brand query does not say whether the buyer needs a camp, a classroom, a warehouse, or a hangar. GridPoint Sourcing rewrites the use into dimensions, loads, jurisdiction, and the work that stays on site. The method tags below are comparison lenses, not a claim that this desk manufactures any of them.

Volumetric

Finish rides inside the box. Check the transport envelope before the crane plan.

Panelized

Flat packs pass a tighter gate and then need more site hours and weather cover.

Foldable

Closed size and open size are both real. Quote both geometries.

Steel systems

Rigid frames, purlins, and girts follow clear span and eave height, not a module photo.

Uses to translate

Workforce camp modules beside a gravel access road

Workforce camps

Relocatable classroom module on piers

Classrooms

Steel warehouse with dock doors and a high eave

Warehouses

Steel hangar with a wide door opening and no aircraft

Hangars

What each use still has to confirm

Occupancy and combination

A camp brief should split sleeping, sanitary, and kitchen counts. A classroom brief should say occupant load and whether the unit is relocatable or left in place. A warehouse brief should name dock count. A hangar brief should name door width and tail height. Mixing those uses into one square-foot price hides the header and the plumbing.

Loads and openings

Write design live load, collateral from sprinklers or ceilings, wind speed, wind exposure category, ground snow load, and seismic design category when the jurisdiction publishes them. A crane runway or a hangar door is an extra case. Do not copy a number from a different county because a search string mentioned a place.

Jurisdiction and documents

Name the authority having jurisdiction and the code edition. IBC and IRC are not HUD Code, and a state modular program is not an RV standard. Ask the supplier which file applies to the quoted system. GridPoint Sourcing does not pre-clear that file.

Site work outside the box

Foundations, utilities, stairs, and canopies may sit with the buyer. Say so. An installed package still needs a ready pad and a crane plan. Transport width, access gates, and who unloads belong in the same note as quantity and destination.

An illustrative hangar note, not a job this desk measured, might list a 80 ft clear span, a 60 ft by 18 ft door, a 24 ft eave, quantity 1, exposure C, and a destination still blank. That door is not a warehouse dock. If the buyer actually needs a camp, start again from bed count rather than stretching the hangar frame.

See building options for inquiry cards, then send the use brief when the openings and the jurisdiction are known. Optional budget and supplier preference stay buyer notes.

Turn the use into a requirement

The desk will ask factories only after the use, the openings, the loads, and the destination are written. A photo of a finished camp is not that note.
