Route
Measure the gate, the bridge, and the transport width before choosing a finished box.
Offsite methods
Volumetric boxes, panelized packs, folding units, and rigid-frame steel systems move different amounts of work off the site. GridPoint Sourcing uses that split to write a comparable request. It does not claim a method as its own product line, and it does not treat a searched brand as the method.
Independent sourcing partner. Method notes are comparison tools, not a supply claim for dorce products.

Count field joints. Panelized work adds site assembly. Volumetric work shifts more assembly into the plant while retaining site connections.
Name the crane and the pick weight. A folding unit has a closed pick and an open geometry.
Ask which drawing matches the configuration that will ship, including the foundation interface.
Ceiling height, insulation target, door schedule, and whether the unit is permanent or relocatable can still move the method. Write the open items instead of letting a supplier assume a catalog default.
When the route cannot take the shipping width, or when the marriage line cannot carry the corridor the occupancy needs. A panel pack or a rigid frame may fit that constraint. That is a geometry decision, not a brand decision.
Price the closed size for freight and the open size for use. Ask who certifies the lock-up after unfolding. Do not compare the closed cube with a finished volumetric box as if they were the same delivered object.
The supplier name, the system name, the drawing revision, the load basis, and the scope line. Standards such as ASCE 7 or AISC 360 are requests tied to that package. They are not assumed because a method sounds advanced.
An illustrative folding note, not a measured shipment, might list a closed width of 8 ft, an open width of 24 ft, a length of 40 ft, quantity 6, and a destination with a 12 ft gate. For a unit shipped folded, use its actual transport state rather than the open floor area. If the brief only states the open floor, the freight line will be wrong.
Read inquiry categories beside this method split, then send the choice that is still open.
Standardized boxes help when the occupancy fits a published module. A custom rigid frame is the other argument when clear span, eave height, or bay spacing will not fit that box. Hot-rolled steel and cold-formed steel should be named in the reply, because a substitution changes the secondary framing even when the floor area stays put. Thermal transmittance or an R-value belongs in the same note as the insulated metal panel. A fire-resistance rating, when the jurisdiction asks for one, has to name the tested assembly rather than a brochure wall.
The check a buyer can repeat is short. Record the transport envelope and the crane lift plan. Ask for the foundation interface reactions that match the quoted configuration and project load basis. Keep shell and turnkey apart. This page does not publish a test lab result, a plant certificate, or a price.
State the method, the transport limit, and the site work that remains. A mixed reply that swaps volumetric for panelized without saying so is not a like-for-like number.
